Undying Resolution Guild Policy
Posted: Fri Oct 31, 2014 12:50 am
Part A - Mission Statement:
1. To raid in an atmosphere that pushes progression in a reduced amount of time. The goal is to clear at least heroic content, while content is current.
2. To maintain a guild with strong communication between members & officers, a guild where members are required to prepare ahead for raid encounters and communicate all attendance issues by posting on the forums.
3. To have fun and enjoy the friendships that are formed within the guild, where we maintain an accepting and open atmosphere that is conducive to achieving our goals.
Part B - Guild Culture:
UR has a unique guild culture that some of our new members may not be familiar with. This document is to help all members understand our culture and know what is expected of them at all times.
The majority of our members are professional working adults, with an average age of about 35. We want to be able to log into the game and enjoy ourselves with common-minded friends. We expect behavior that would be appropriate in any professional working environment. Because our game time is limited, we want our raiding to be efficient as well as enjoyable. We are a very friendly guild and we treat each other with respect.
Part C - General Expectations for All Guild Members:
1. Above all, have fun - this is our pastime, our hobby, our escape.
2. Generally speaking, keep the language reasonable, understand that many may have children or young adults in the room, or even playing with them- as such if you let an f bomb, or other bomb go by accident, just say sorry. Long strings of profanity are not welcome in a mature guild.

Part D - Ranks & Expectations:
What we expect of all raiding ranks:
1. You will bring a positive attitude to all guild events and will maintain a civil and friendly composure in accordance with our general rules at all times.
2. You will, on your own time prior to raids read, watch, study, understand, ask questions, and sign boss strategy threads.
3. You will come to raids on time, repaired beforehand, with a small amount of your own flasks/food available in case they are needed.
4. You will communicate with the officers to maintain a two-way dialogue about your availability and needs, as well as using the absences forum in every instance of an absence, and retroactively if the forum is not available until after your absence.
5. You will follow instructions, for better or worse, and will not question or object during an encounter.
6. Questions/comments/concerns are always welcome and appreciated between attempts, not during them. Keep VoIP/Discord clear for the raid leader(s).
7. Wednesday and Thursday are our primary raid nights and attendance of ALL raiders is required.
Initiate
What we expect:
1. An Initiate who desires to raid must meet an attendance requirement based on a period consisting of approximately 14 raid days (7 weeks). At the end of that time-period the Initiate may be promoted. The minimum attendance required to even be considered for a raiding rank is 80%. See Raid Attendance Requirements for further information.
2. You are responsible for maintaining your gems, enchants, and other gear needs.
3. As many new Initiates are below the average ilvl of our regular raiders, we strongly expect week to week improvement as gear upgrades are obtained. If you are coming into the guild at an ilvl matching that of our raiders we fully expect your performance to be middle of the pack with some higher performance fights and some lower performance fights. Failing to perform at a level consistent with our current raiders while in similar gear and circumstance will most likely result in your raiding application being deferred to a social application and you will instead be offered a social position within the guild at the conclusion of your Initiate trial period.
4. You will report all absences on our absence forum, prior to raid or within 24 hours following the missed raid’s start time.
5. Up to two (2) alts are allowed in the guild for this rank.
6. This rank is a trial period for you as much as it is for us. You may, at any time, leave Undying Resolution on good terms provided you notify the officers and the timing of your departure does not coincide with our raid nights.
*Note: Only 5 and 6 apply for those on the path to Social rank.
What you can expect:
1. We will make available raid slots to meet your minimum raid requirement.
2. We cover your flasks, food, and a portion of your repair costs. Gems and enchants are also available from the guild bank.
3. If you attend the required raids, and perform to an acceptable level, promotion to a full U.R. raid rank will come after a minimum of 7 weeks.
*Note: 1-3 are not required for those on the path to Social rank.
Social Raider
What we expect:
1. A social who desires to raid must make arrangements with guild leadership and be approved by both our raid leader, Zweibel, as well as the Guild Master, Mindylynne.
2. You are responsible for maintaining the agreed upon attendance and reporting all absences.
3. You are responsible for keeping your gear upgraded and maintaining a competitive ilevel.
4. As many social raiders are below the average ilvl of our regular raiders, we strongly expect week to week improvement as gear upgrades are obtained. If you are coming into the raid at an ilvl matching that of our raiders we fully expect your performance to be middle of the pack with some higher performance fights and some lower performance fights.
What you can expect:
1. We will make available raid slots to meet your minimum raid requirement, when we are doing “farmed content” raiding. An invite to progression raiding will depend on factors such as space availability, your ilevel, and your performance capabilities.
2. We cover your flasks, food, and a portion of your repair costs. Gems and enchants are also available from the guild bank.
Raider
What we expect:
1. A minimum of 81% attendance averaged over each quarter of the year. It is your responsibility to make these raids and keep track of your own attendance to be sure you meet the requirements each quarter. See Raid Attendance Requirements for further information.
2. A level of performance that is the baseline requirement for U.R.'s progression which is the average sum of its members. If the majority of a raid can perform a task such as but not limited to: clicking something at the right time, doing x amount of damage to the right target at the right time, or simply being in the right place when asked, failing to do what your peers can do is a fast way to demotion. In short, we fully expect you to be a strong link in the chain that is our team, not the weak link.
3. You will report all absences on our absence forum, prior to raid or within 24 hours following the missed raid’s start time.
What you can expect:
1. Priority over Initiates for raid slots to meet your minimum raid requirement
2. We cover your flasks, food, and a portion of your repair costs. Gems and enchants are also available from the guild bank.
3. Promotion to Senior Raider is based upon attitude, involvement in the guild beyond raiding, attendance, and performance in raids. Promotion is not guaranteed and may never happen if you do not push yourself to be a better player.
4. You may be permitted to have friends and family in the guild at social status, approval requires three (3) supporting officers, an interview with both the Raider and the friend/family, and an application by the friend/family.
Senior Raider
What we expect:
1. A minimum of 88% attendance averaged over each quarter of the year. It is your responsibility to make these raids and keep track of your own attendance to be sure you meet the requirements each quarter. See Raid Attendance Requirements for further information.
2. Continual improvement and updating of your play style, spec, and add-ons. You are the best we have, continue to prove it each and every raid. You are expected to be very strong links in our chain capable of great finesse and diversity in your play style as the encounters demand it.
3. You will report all absences on our absence forum, prior to raid or within 24 hours following the missed raid’s start time.
4. Senior Raider is not a guaranteed rank. Senior Raiders must show excellence in attitude, attendance, guild participation, performance, and being a role model for others, to attain and maintain this rank.
What you can expect:
1. We cover your flasks, food, and a portion of your repair costs. Gems and enchants are also available from the guild bank.
2. You can refer social friends & family to the guild for social status with a significantly reduced application process. Approval of the Guild Master, and a brief application for UR records is all that is needed.
3. You are eligible for guild purchased gear, and guild support on large fiscal endeavors (Legendaries).
4. Priority over Raiders and Initiates for raid spots, as well as more flexibility and leeway with longer-term absences from WoW.
5. One (1) raiding alt is permitted and may be brought to farm-content bosses, and progression bosses (by officer-request only).
Crusader
What we expect:
1. No minimum attendance is required as Crusader is a lifetime rank.
2. While there is no minimum attendance required for raiding, a Crusader who has not raided for at least a tier must inform the Guild Master and Raid Leader of their intent to raid.
3. If Raiding, You will report all absences on our absence forum, prior to raid or within 24 hours following the missed raid’s start time.
4. Crusader is not a guaranteed rank. It is a veteran rank reserved for those past and present who have fought tirelessly under UR's banner. Those who have shown excellence in the effort they have given this guild. A minimum of six months at Senior Raider is required to be considered for Crusader.
What you can expect:
Note: Expectations 1-4 are for raiding Crusaders only.
1. We cover your flasks, food, and a portion of your repair costs. Gems and enchants are also available from the guild bank.
2. You are eligible for guild purchased gear, and guild support on large fiscal endeavors (Legendaries).
3. Priority over Senior Raiders, Raiders, and Initiates for raid spots, as long as you are raiding on a regular basis, as well as more flexibility and leeway with longer-term absences from WoW.
4. One (1) raiding alt is permitted and may be brought to farm-content bosses, and progression bosses (by officer-request only).
5. You can refer social friends & family to the guild for social status with a significantly reduced application process. Approval of the Guild Master, and a brief application for UR records is all that is needed.
